Lifeboat Day, 1962 - Memories of Redcar

 

This small series shows the Redcar lifeboat, The City of Leeds doing a practice rescue of one of my brothers who was thirteen years old at the time.

 

He was transferred, via Breeches Buoy, from Eric Pendleton's Blue Streak speed-boat to the lifeboat. The last photograph in the series shows my brother, rear-left, none the worse for his experience. Eric Pendleton is at front-right.
